The 30 Minute Jumbo Hook + Yarn Crochet Basket Tutorial (FREE!)

How fun is this Jumbo Crochet Basket? It's perfect for holding blankets, toys, yarn, or anything really! ;-) And the best part - it only takes 30 minutes to make!

Are you ready to get started? Here's what you'll need:

Abbreviations:

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

Materials:

4 Skeins of Loops and Threads Biggie Yarn (or 84 yards of any Jumbo Yarn)

1 25mm Crochet Hook (mine is from adzewoodcraft)

Scissors

And 30 minutes of your time! ;-)

Directions:

Round 1: Ch 3, and put 7 dc in the 3rd ch from hook. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 2: Ch 2, and put 1 dc in the same st. Put 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 3: Ch 2, and put 1 dc in the same st. *Put 1 dc in the next st, and 2 dc in the next st after that. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 4: Ch 1, and put 1 sc in the back loop of the same stitch, and each stitch around. (This will cause your work to stand up from the base of the basket, and form the sides of the basket.) When you reach the end of the round, sl st into the 1st stitch at the beginning of the round.

Round 5: Ch 1, and put 1 sc in the same
stitch, and each stitch around. When you reach the end of the round, sl st into the 1st stitch at the beginning of the round (not the ch 1), this will help the seam up the side of the basket to be straighter.

Rounds 6 through 10: Repeat Round 5.

Cut yarn, and weave in all ends.

Happy Making! :-D
