NEW Crochet Pattern - The Sunset Purse

I'm super excited to announce that I have collaborated with We Are Knitters, using their new "The Tape" yarn, to bring you the next pattern included in the Spring / Summer 2017 Knitwear Collection - The Sunset Purse

This just may be my favorite purse / bag I've ever made! :-) It features an over-the-shoulder strap, a circular base, a super fun ruffled top, and a cinch-tie closure with tasseled ends. Sounds like the perfect summer bag to me! ;-D

To create The Sunset Purse, I used We Are Knitters NEW The Tape Yarn

Reasons to love this yarn:

1. It's mostly cotton.

2. Made from 100% recycled yarn.

3. It comes in a variety of super fun colors!

Click HERE to grab up some for yourself! I used 2 skeins of The Tape yarn in the color "Bordeaux" for The Sunset Purse crochet pattern. ;-)

Are you ready to make one (or maybe even two!) of these Sunset Purses for yourself? ;-D

Awesome - Let's get started! ;-D Here's what you'll need:

The 30 Minute Jumbo Hook + Yarn Crochet Basket Tutorial (FREE!)

How fun is this Jumbo Crochet Basket? It's perfect for holding blankets, toys, yarn, or anything really! ;-) And the best part - it only takes 30 minutes to make!

Are you ready to get started? Here's what you'll need:

Abbreviations:

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

Materials:

4 Skeins of Loops and Threads Biggie Yarn (or 84 yards of any Jumbo Yarn)

1 25mm Crochet Hook (mine is from adzewoodcraft)

Scissors

And 30 minutes of your time! ;-)

Directions:

Round 1: Ch 3, and put 7 dc in the 3rd ch from hook. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 2: Ch 2, and put 1 dc in the same st. Put 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 3: Ch 2, and put 1 dc in the same st. *Put 1 dc in the next st, and 2 dc in the next st after that. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the ch 2 at the beginning of the round to close.

Round 4: Ch 1, and put 1 sc in the back loop of the same stitch, and each stitch around. (This will cause your work to stand up from the base of the basket, and form the sides of the basket.) When you reach the end of the round, sl st into the 1st stitch at the beginning of the round.

Round 5: Ch 1, and put 1 sc in the same
stitch, and each stitch around. When you reach the end of the round, sl st into the 1st stitch at the beginning of the round (not the ch 1), this will help the seam up the side of the basket to be straighter.

Rounds 6 through 10: Repeat Round 5.

Cut yarn, and weave in all ends.

Happy Making! :-D

NEW Knitting Pattern - The Blossom Top

I'm so excited to share with you all the newest pattern in my Spring / Summer 17' Knitwear Collection - The Blossom Top!

Reasons I love this design:

1. It's lightweight + cotton, just what we need for those warmer months!

2. The pattern is simple (I'm thinking about you, beginner-knitters!), but still interesting enough that it looks complicated to make, but really isn't! (Shhh...don't tell anybody! ;-D )

3. It's easily customizable to YOUR perfect size & fit!

4. This COLOR!! One of my absolute favorites for spring!

I used the La Mia Cottony yarn from hobiumyarns.com in the color "Pinkish-Orange" to create this top.

It is one of the softest cotton yarns that I have ever used, and the best part - it comes in an amazing variety of colors AND is very reasonably priced! Just go HERE to check them out for yourself. ;-D

Have I convinced you that you need one of these tops for yourself yet? Good! ;-D Here's what you'll need:

Materials:

1 pair 6mm Knitting Needles

A Large Eye Tapestry Needle (For weaving in ends)

A Ruler

Scissors

Happy Making! :-D

Please feel free to contact me or comment below with any questions you may have concerning this pattern, I'm happy to help! :-)
